Karina Guaman
I am an architectural and urban designer with over a decade of professional experience, working on projects that span the redevelopment of public spaces, the rehabilitation of cultural and heritage buildings, and the design of immersive, narrative-driven exhibitions for museums, both permanent and temporary. I am now transitioning into applied research through the Space Syntax: Architecture & Cities programme at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, to further explore the relationship between territory, culture, and space.

Why La Krisis?
Crises, whether systemic or personal, are not unusual events but rather permanent states, matters to be thought about, created, and transformed. Krisis—from the ancient Greek κρίσις—means decision, discernment, a turning point. The word also originates from the verb κρίνειν, meaning "to separate" or "to decide." It's more than a word; it's a space of tension where my approach is forged. I find myself today in a transition zone: between practice and research, between academia and art, and between project tools and critical narratives. This website is a space to expose fractures and questions, to transform lines of fugue into lines of force. Krisis is a way of inhabiting uncertainty—with lucidity, commitment, and imagination.
